About Holly's Horse Haven Charity
Holly’s Horse Haven is the only official cross border/cross community 24/7 critical care rescue charity in Ireland,they are an endorsed not for profit charity making a meaningful difference in the lives of neglected and at-risk horses & ponies throughout the country through direct intervention, education, community outreach, the raising of awareness, and through hands-on horse rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing.
What's Involved
At Holly's Horse Haven Charity we appreciate all support offered to our rescues however horse knowledge or experience with horses is NOT necessary given there will be guidance available.
We also have many duties that are NOT equine based but are just as important to the daily function of the charity.
NOTE:- No volunteers will be asked to go near any rescues they are not comfortable with and most rescues are removed for exercise by yard manager when stables are being cleaned out twice daily.
EQUINE DUTIES
Helping keep the horses, ponies & donkey's clean & stables comfortable
Grooming,
Yard maintenance,
Fencing maintenance,
Preparing feeds,
Driving with feed buckets to rescues in local fields,
Stable spring cleaning,
Stable Painting.
GENERAL DUTIES
Brushing yard,
Power-washing
Cleaning duties,
Cleaning feed room and rug area.
What's required for this position
There are no skills required for any of the roles we need volunteers to assist us with here at the charity as our yard manager is there to guide you in your daily tasks.
We also welcome the more MATURE / RETIRED VOLUNTEERS to our charity as part of both our equine and Go green growing programmes as we find they have so many life expereinces to share with us. Also if you are interested in learning more, we do have workshops available as part of our Creature Consciousness / Go Green community.
