About Walkinstown Greenhills Resource Centre
WGRC is a community owned service which works to assist the local community to respond to the problem of substance misuse. The organisation aims to address the causes and symptoms of substance misuse in the area. WGRC provides a range of services and supports to those directly and indirectly affected by drug addiction.
What's Involved
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to head up our fundraising strategy, to develop and manage a new and fledgling approach to fundraising, donor development and corporate engagement for WGRC.
You will be responsible for devising and delivering a fundraising strategy that will raise the vital funds necessary to support and develop the organisation’s key aims. We are looking for someone with a good knowledge of the Irish fundraising sector and a passion for marketing and strategy for charities and the non-profit sector.
This is a stand-alone role with the potential to grow, and the ideal candidate will have the opportunity to shape and to make the role their own. We are looking for an ideas-oriented, articulate and creative individual with strong sales and presentations skills, who will be able to take WGRC to the next level in terms of developing and delivering on its fundraising activities.
The role - Income Generation:
• Devise and manage the traditional fund raising activities and events that provide core funding.
• Work closely with other organisations to develop the channels of support to grow the charity and develop our services
• Work closely with the corporate/commercial sector to generate and focus the substantial corporate social responsibility that exists in Ireland and develop relationships with companies to foster long term commitments and partnerships with WGRC
• Develop new, innovative and sustainable fundraising and giving mechanisms and activities and generate increased income from existing sources
• Prepare fundraising budgets with forecast income and expenditure. Drive efficiencies and control costs for what is a cost conscious, value seeking charity.
• Achieve fundraising income targets through a mix of fundraising and giving/donation activities
What's required for this position
• Experience in fundraising or corporate sales, on either a part-time or full-time basis
• Knowledge of financial planning & budgeting procedures
• Competence in managing fundraising information systems/databases
• Ability to work out of office hours including evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required and acceptance of the need to travel nationwide as part of the role
• Knowledge and understanding of the Irish Charity fundraising sector and national support structures an advantage
• Experience of developing and managing virtual teams, with exposure of working with volunteer/community groups an advantage

The area is well served by the following bus routes; 77A, 27A, 56A, 9A, 151 and 18. In addition the Luas Red Line stop at Kylemore is a 6 minute walk to our location. The main access routes are the M50, (turn off at red cow , Long Mile & Kylemore Road.
