About KARE Social Services
KARE Social Services is a charitable organisation which was founded in 1965 by volunteers. Today KARE provides Home Help, Meals on Wheels, Citizens Information and a Community Minibus service. Our Meals on Wheels kitchen also provides a dinner to residents and locals in one of our sheltered Dublin City Council accommodation kitchens.
Our Mission Statement is to ‘Support and improve quality of life by enabling older people to live independently at home’.
We are looking for volunteer drivers to help deliver meals to hundreds of people in their homes each week. Our Volunteers give of their time, one hour per week usually (or more if you are keen!) to deliver a hot nutritious meal to an elderly person in their own home. All hot containers and training is provided.
We deliver a lunch time meals on wheels service in the Dublin 5, 7 and Dublin 15 areas.
Meals are delivered between 11.45 and 1 o'clock.
