About Northside Home Care Services
Northside Home Care Services (formerly KARE Social Services) is a charitable organisation which was founded in 1965 by volunteers. Today we provide Home Help, Meals on Wheels, Citizens Information and a Community Minibus service. Our Meals on Wheels kitchen also provides a dinner to residents and locals in one of our sheltered Dublin City Council accommodation kitchens.
Our Mission Statement is to ‘Support and improve quality of life by enabling older people to live independently at home’.
What's Involved
Do you have one hour to spare during the week and like to support older people in your community? We currently need drivers in the Dublin 5 area.
We are looking for volunteer drivers to help deliver meals to hundreds of people in their homes each week. Our Volunteers give of their time, one hour per week usually (or more if you are keen!) to deliver a nutritious meal to an elderly person in their own home. Due to Covid, all meals are delivered chilled. Training is provided.
We deliver a lunch time meals on wheels service in the Dublin 5 area.
Meals are delivered between 11.45 and 1 o'clock.
What's required for this position
- The volunteer must have a car and drivers licence and be available for one hour one day a week between 11.30 and 1.00pm.
