The Irish Society for Colitis and Crohn’s Disease (ISCC) is a patient support group for people who are living with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis (collectively known as Inflammatory Bowel Disease or IBD). We offer telephone support, information leaflets, and organise meetings and events around the country. The ISCC Youth Group is the youth arm of the ISCC and organises informal events and activities aimed at younger people who are living with IBD. The ISCC lobby on behalf of people with IBD for improved services and greater awareness of the impact of living with IBD.

What's Involved

The Social Media Co-ordinator is responsible for promoting the work of the ISCC platform via social media and other media aspects. You will play an important role in keeping people in the know about who the ISCC are and how we are making a big difference in the lives of those impacted by Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease.

Your role involves liaising with other volunteers, board members, working across different areas of the group such as fundraising,events and publicity to sources news, information and multimedia to make regular posts on social networking sites.

What's required for this position

1. Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well with a range of people Ability to work independently and as part of a team
2. Some experience of working with computers / IT skills
3. Editorial and photo editing skills would be an advantage
4. Knowledge of the advantages and disadvantages of using social networking

This role can be carried out from home as long as the volunteer has the relevant tools.
