About NEC Community Gardens
Since May 2010 members of the community have striven to create a new Community Garden within the North East Inner City. Many in the locale are now using the garden as a place to grow their food and flowers, the garden is intended for all in the community be they individauls or groups.
What's Involved
We are currently seeking volunteers to assist with the preparation of our Community Garden for our official open day and official launch of the Men's Shed on Friday, 30th June. We are also seeking volunteers to attend between 12 noon and 4pm on the day itself. You'll be helping out in the North East Central Community Garden on Rutland Street Lower in the Dublin 1 area and the key duties will involve the following:
Gardening:
Clearing weeds
Pruning beds
Moving topsoil and tree bark
Event Volunteers:
Providing information to the public
Assisting with children's activities
Facepainting
Providing catering assistance for the bbq
What's required for this position
You'll need to be physically capable of carrying out the tasks outlined for preparing the Community Garden.
You'll need to be personable and friendly in dealing with the public at the event.

Getting there
Take the 123 Bus at Summerhill Health Centre. Walk along the road to the right of the new Primary Health centre construction site until you see silver gates which are the entrance to the NEC Community Garden.
