About Discover Carlingford

CCTA is a local voluntary organisation which has a sole responsibility for the development of sustainable tourism with the Carlingford and Cooley Peninsula and surrounding local regions. CCTA’s role is to:

  • Influence people to travel to and throughout the peninsula.
  • Increase the economic benefits to the area from tourism.
  • Help foster a sustainable tourism industry in the area.

    What's Involved

    Volunteers are needed to assist us with the Carlingford Oyster Festival, which is a four day celebration for the entire family is stuffed with conventional kids’ exercises including Magic Show, Face Painting, the ever prominent Teddy Bear’s Picnic, Free Kayaking in the Harbor, Children’s Funfair and Bouncing Castles.

    Clams, Oysters, Oysters and heaps of Fun for all the Family!

    The fun program starts on Friday evening with the opening of Cassely’s Extreme Funfair on the park and music in the majority of the nearby bars. At that point on Saturday and Sunday Carlingford is changed with vivacious road amusement, Artisan Craft and Food Stalls and nearby eateries offering flavorful fishy dishes, chowders and neighbourhood cooking.

    Guided Medieval voyages through Carlingford
    Highlighting the Kiddies Oyster Pearl Welly Hunt where the entire family can scrounge on the shores of Carlingford Lough to discover treasures covered up inside the shorelife and seashells.

    The Carlingford Oyster Festival is a “Nourishment and Family Entertainment Festival” advancing exercises that improve the current gastronomy, crisp deliver and Artisan make and Design offering in the region.

    Volunteers are needed for Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th August.
