Mansion House Fuel Fund Committee

About Mansion House Fuel Fund Committee

The Mansion House Fuel Fund distributes cash grants through a number of Charitable Societies, without any distinction of creed. Tracing its roots back to the 1870’s, it was one of the first truly Ecumenical Charities in the City.
The main fundraising for the Charity takes place in December. The Irish Farmers Association provide a live Animal Crib on the Mansion House forecourt for the duration of the Advent period. Funds are also raised by means of an annual postage appeal & the Lord Mayor’s Annual Christmas Concert. It is thanks to the generosity of the general public that the Mansion House Fuel Fund continues to provide support for the less fortunate during the season of goodwill.

What's Involved

We are seeking additional members to promote our work and the mission of Mansion House Fuel Fund through a variety of media channels, especially social media. We also need help developing effective and modern fundraising approaches.

Your role will involve:
1. Establishing effective linkages with schools, colleges and corporate organisations
2. Attending Committee meetings (about 3 full meetings per year)
3. Liaising with Hon. Secretary and Treasurer on the above matters
4. Supporting concerted fundraising efforts over the weeks approaching Christmas (by far the busiest time of the year).

Ideally, we are seeking two people: one for Social Media and the other for Fundraising; however, we are open to welcoming a person who could combine both roles as they are closely related and complementary.
