What's Involved
• To facilitate discussion with a group of 5-7 teenagers to and help focus their learning in meeting the aims and objectives of each session
• To encourage the teenagers to reach the vision for RISE, showing them that they have the potential to become sources of hope in their communities
• Provide a positive mature adult role model
• Help in preparation of materials for sessions (training provided by Innovista)
• Follow the session plan
• Record how the session went
• Adhere to school rules and work within Innovista’s Child Protection Policy
• Provide feedback on sessions to the Project Leader and report any concerns
About RISE
Area focused leadership development in Dublin’s inner city. A 7-10 week leadership training programme for groups of 5-30 teens ages 14-18 equips teenagers to become sources of hope in their communities through carrying out a community project and learning leadership skills. RISE mentoring programme helps teenagers increase their engagement in school and the local community.
What's required for this position
• No formal qualifications are required
• Experience of engaging with teenagers of secondary school age
• Experience of group facilitation (desirable)
• Passionate about working with teenagers and ability to relate to teenagers on their own level
• Maturity, patience, tolerance and tact
• Committed and dependable
• Able to understand and value diversity
• Ability to work well as part of a team
