ALONE is a national organisation that supports and empowers older people to age happily and securely at home. We support individuals and their families, work with other organisations, and campaign nationwide to improve the lives of older people. We work with all older people, including those who are lonely, isolated, homeless, living in poverty, or are experiencing other difficulties. We support them through these challenges to help them find long term solutions.
What's Involved
The IT / Technology Intern will play a central role in ALONE’s Knowledge Management, Compliance and Technology department and will get hands on experience in the Information Technology area.
ALONE with our partners, NetwellCASALA, have developed a technology platform with smart apps, Ambient Assisted Living technology and a central Management Information System. This technology platform is used internally by ALONE and by 6 other organisations.
Role Summary:
This Intern will be working with a small Technology team in ALONE. The Intern will assist the team with the following tasks:
• In house technical support queries
• Installation and configuration of new hardware, devices, etc.
• Completing an inventory of all IT systems and devices
• New office set up and support
• Training and onboarding of new staff and new organisations
• IP telephony system support and configuration
• Implementation of Data protection plan
What's required for this position
• Third level qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or related area is required
• Good organisational and time management skills desired
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Understanding of CRM systems and document management systems, particularly Salesforce and SharePoint would be beneficial
