What's Involved

To act as the link person at regional level between the Secretariat and relevant volunteers (RD Unit, Youth, Health & Social Care) and IRC caseworkers/migration team.

  • To coordinate relevant IRC volunteer support services to ensure consistent service delivery across all phases of the migration programme.
  • Work with service users to maintain a professional relationship of trust and support.
  • To act as the focal point to deliver relevant training/advice to volunteers dealing with the migration programme.
  • In line with the IRC Migration Operational Plan, develop a 6 monthly work plan with the local coordinator and/or Facility Manager. (The work plan must be approved by the Migration Planning Team before committing to it.)
  • Create realistic expectations for any stakeholder in the project.
  • Manage local IRC volunteer expectations and participation appropriately.
  • Build a flexible, competent and enthusiastic support team in the local areas.
  • To provide regular reports to the Regional Directors of HSC on progress and challenges on a regular basis and provide said reports in a manner presentable for Area Committees.
  • Maintain a record of confidential migration activity in your region via an activity template on a monthly basis.
  • Attend relevant training to fulfil the role.
  • To maintain a working knowledge of all relevant policies/procedures.
  • To escalate any complaints with regards to services to the Migration Programme Manager. As the project develops, engage with new members to participate in the programme.
