Jesuit Refugee Service Ireland's mission is to accompany, advocate and serve the cause of refugees and forcibly displaced persons worldwide.

What's Involved

Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Ireland are seeking a volunteer to undertake desk research, mapping various public and voluntary services available across Ireland. The information collected will be compiled into 'Moving On' sheets to be distributed to newly arrived asylum seekers, providing them with greater information on the services in their locality.

A template of the 'Moving On' sheets will be provided to you, making the information needed clear and providing focus to your research. All information required is publicly available and the vast majority can be obtained online with ease. Therefore you can volunteer for this role from anywhere in the country and forward the completed work to us remotely.

What's required for this position

Volunteers for this role should have experience with online research and be very comfortable with computers and use of the internet for research purposes, in an academic or professional context.
Timekeeping and ability to stick to a schedule for return of the work is also essential. This schedule will be agreed between us and you based on the pace at which you can complete the research, taking account of the need to circulate the information to our service users as soon a possible. All work will be proofread prior to distribution.
