About Special Olympics Ireland

The mission of Special Olympics Ireland is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a varity of olympic type sports for children and adults with an intellectual disability.

What's Involved

Dublin will be hosting the Special Olympics Ireland Games from the 14th to the 17th June 2018 inclusive. 2,500 volunteers are required to make these Games a success.

General volunteer roles vary across a range of Functional Areas in Competition, Accommodation and Special Events Venues. Roles vary from stewarding, access control, signing in volunteers at venue, organising equipment and deliveries in venues, staging athletes for competition, providing information to spectators and families.

Volunteers are required to be available for the 4 days of the Games. Face to face role training will be provided in April / May. Details of all roles available can be viewed when registering interest on www.specialolympics.ie
