About Irish Architecture Foundation
The Irish Architecture Foundation is an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion of architecture as culture. We encourage people to engage with their built environment, to inspire new ways of thinking about architecture. Open House Dublin (OHD) is the flagship event of the IAF: a free annual celebration of the city’s best architecture, when buildings of all types and periods open their doors to allow citizens and visitors to explore Dublin City.
What's Involved
Are you excited about culture, architecture, and meeting new people? Get involved in the Open House Festival Dublin! The Festival runs on the weekend from the 11th and 13th October, this year’s theme is “City in Motion”.
OHD volunteers are public facing roles and will be placed at our main events during the weekends and help out on weekdays. The role involves welcoming visitors, managing queues, following tours, assisting the public and being mindful of the health and safety of all visitors during opening hours. This year we will be offering a variety of volunteer positions throughout the OHD programme giving you the chance to be more involved in OHD. We’re looking for: visitor facing roles such as steward, info hub attendants, volunteer area managers and tour guides.
As a OHD Volunteer you’re an IAF ambassador and will engage with architectural enthusiasts such as yourself.
Full training (one hour induction) and a Volunteer pack will be provided. This role suits outgoing, reliable and motivated volunteers. Applicants must commit a minimum of 4 hours and attend our volunteer session training.
If you assist us for 3-4 hours during the weekend of Open House, in return a party will be thrown in your honour.
