The Humanitarian Symphony Orchestra (HSO) is a voluntary orchestra focusing on community, where it performs through concerts, engagement, and music education, to develop participation, inclusiveness and engaging the widest audience possible. It supports humanitarian aims through charity concerts which benefit local and national organizations with a philanthropic mission.

What's Involved

We are looking for volunteers who would like to help out at the concerts/venues and at our rehearsals in the school hall. Concerts- several per year

(1) Meet & greet people/audience as they arrive.
(2) Assistance with handing out programmes / general prep work for concerts.
(3) General help with organising.
(4) Clear up after venue.
It's not heavy work at all.
Would suite mature persons with an interest in music/community participation.

Rehearsal Sundays @6pm.
We rehearse in a school hall on Sunday evenings @6pm for 2 hours each week.
(1) We would like support with light admin work at that time.
(2) General help with tea/coffee, etc.
(3) Clear up.

General organisation at rehearsal times. Very easy going but bunch of people.

What's required for this position

Basic admin /Organising venues with a team/ light clear up duties/ online platform assistance. Support the runnng of an Orchestra.

Level of English required for this role:
Fluent English

Location of volunteering opportunity:
School hall/ where Orchestra practice weekly. Iona Road Drumcondra D9

Other location details:
Local school 2.5 hrs on Sunday night evenings & Only at concerts/ always local- several times a year.
