WGRC is a community owned service which works to assist the local community to respond to the problem of substance misuse. The organisation aims to address the causes and symptoms of substance misuse in the area. WGRC provides a range of services and supports to those directly and indirectly affected by drug addiction.
What's Involved
Strengthening Families Programme
The Strengthening Families Programme is a 14 session family skills training programme designed to increase resilience and reduce the risk factors for substance misuse, depression, violence and aggression, involvement in crime, and school failure in high risk, 13-17 year old children and their parents.
The Site Co-ordinator, will have responsibility for the following;
- Weekly briefing meeting with the management team to update on the previous session during programme delivery
- Attend any meetings during the session delivery period to update the management team on progress
- Member of Family Selection Panel when referrals come in,
- Attend review meetings and meetings as required with external agencies
- Attend meetings with others relevant to delivery e.g. Facilitators, Referral Agencies, etc
- Planning meetings for Family Graduation and Booster sessions (with the Programme Manager)
- Act as link to Referral Agents and be the designated officer for child protection.
