We offer a range of programmes based on innovative approaches to meet new and emerging needs for those affected by homelessness, the needs of young people, and the development of community driven services.

What's Involved

Calling all chatterboxes to join our Crosscare Homeless service team in D7! Would you have one afternoon free each week to help in a practical way in our dining room at dinner time?(3pm - 6.30pm)

If so ... Here's the role!!
• To set up the dining room before opening time.
• To provide a warm welcome to each resident in our service and encourage them to go to the dining room for meals
• To assist the service staff in handing out meals to residents where req'd
• To engage with resident and encourage conversation. Volunteers are welcome to join residents in meals once their tasks have been completed
• To keep service counters /tables/ tea & coffee station clean and fully stocked
• To keep dining area clean and wipe down tables
• To inform staff of any concerns you may have for residents or the service

What's required for this position

Essential Skills/Qualities:
• We are looking for outgoing volunteers who are empathetic; non-judgmental who can be patient, flexible and supportive with our residents

Desirable skills/Qualities:
• Experience working with vulnerable adults
• Experience working/volunteering in a café / restaurant & good understanding of Health and Safety in a kitchen environment.
• Interest in nutrition & healthy eating
• Ability to engage and motivate residents

  • Hospitality/ Befriending
  • Personable Skills

Level of English required for this role:
Intermediate English

Times and commitment required for this role
