YMCA Dublin has been helping vulnerable young people in Dublin’s Inner City for over 160 years. Youth work, education, family support programmes, community childcare and community employment are just some of the services built into the very core of the YMCA’s existence. We work with young people from créche going age through to youth work with education programmes for those who leave school early.
What's Involved
Would you like to be involved in running a youth cafe in inner-city Dublin?
At the moment we are seeking volunteers for our busy Youth Cafe based in the South Inner City of Dublin.
The Youth Cafe is a vibrant safe space for young people within the local community to come and chat with friends, play pool, PlayStation, chill out while under the guidance of a trusted adult and trained Youth Workers. The Youth Cafe runs from 11 am-1 pm for 10-12 yr olds and 2 pm- 4 pm for 13-18 yr olds.
Minimum commitment would be for 6 months either on Saturday from 10:30-1:30 or 1:30-4:30. An option to be part of both sessions is also available.
• The applicant will have the ability to empathise with, lead and motivate young people.
• The applicant must be able to develop and maintain effective relationships with young people in the 10-18 age group and have a non-judgemental approach.
Screening for this role will include an informal interview, references, C.V and Garda vetting.

What's required for this position

excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
