The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their carers.
What's Involved
Providing supervision for service users.
Helping with activities including crafts or games.
Chatting with service users and helping them at meal times if needed.
The volunteer could also help in the kitchen and with cleaning if they like.
Hours - We are open from 10.30 to 3.30 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Volunteers are welcome to volunteer for a whole day or part of a day. The minimum commitment is one two hour shift per week.
What's required for this position
Patient and friendly person with an interest in helping older people. A Fetac level 5 Carer's qualification or equivalent would be ideal, but is not essential.
