About The Living Communities
The Living Communities aims to promote ecotourism for a remote rural community in Mayo, celebrating the historic connections of this community with France and Germany, while also advancing the preservation of the environment.
What's Involved
Our ecotourism project at www.gaeltacht.info is about to go live. Some translation jobs will come up. General advice is welcome. We mostly operate over the internet, with volunteers from several countries.
We are a volunteer, non-profit company, with specialist assistants - determined in our effort to bring German visitors into personal contact with Gaelic (Celtic) speakers and others, in the West, off the beaten track. We speak for the people of Ceathrú Thaidhg (Mayo). Pre-historic and historic Celtic/German connections were well researched for our videos and research papers.
The project is unique in how we aim to celebrate these connections. The time required of you is related to events but is never burdensome.
What's required for this position
A dependable and personable volunteer, who can appreciate our cultural aims, will fit the bill. We have an interest in the environment and our website contains a full ecostatement, in Irish, German, French and English.
