Music can provide people with dementia with opportunities for movement, socialisation, cognitive challenge and just plain enjoyment. Could you help bring these benefits to one of our Day Centres?
The purpose of the Volunteer Musician role is to provide musical entertainment for persons with dementia within our service centres. This can include playing musical instruments such as keyboard, guitar, accordion etc, singing, as well as encouraging participation and generally generating a pleasant, fun atmosphere for our clients.
Volunteers must have own instruments, and an interest/understanding of dementia would be desirable.
What's required for this position
Comfortable playing a musical instrument and/or singing in front of a group.
