About Society of St. Vincent de Paul - (SVP East Region)
Society of St. Vincent de Paul is one of the largest and longest established charities in Ireland. We provide both practical support and friendship to people in need, and are committed to identifying the root causes of poverty and social exclusion in Ireland, and advocating for a more just and caring society. During our history we have helped people in need through a Famine, a Civil War, a War of Independence, two World Wars and several economic recessions.
We are Ireland's largest voluntary organization and we really need your help – please join us and offer the Hand of Friendship to those less fortunate.
We visit people in their homes, in pairs. We have need of help in the north county Dublin area. The responsibility is mainly just to go with someone to visit a person in their home and have a chat with them and help out where needed, i.e getting information etc.
Volunteers will also need to help with the monthly church collections.
