BlueFire is a free open-air intercultural arts festival that takes place in Dublin's historic Smithfield Square. The festival is a non-profit social enterprise with a mission to promote social integration and cohesion amongst Dubliners across all cultural backgrounds.

BlueFire Fellowship: The BlueFire Fellowship is a social leadership, action based, learning programme for 18 – 30 year olds; providing an opportunity for young adults to unleash their leadership and changemaker ability.

Throughout this 9-month programme, participants will collaborate together to develop upon existing skills & build new ones; increase awareness of global and local challenges; explore their role as social innovators; and become meaningful changemakers.

During your time as a fellow you will be involved in delivering BlueFire’s 2018 services & programmes in the community, as part of one of 4 teams – Community Collaboration, Marketing, Dublinternational Festival, or Business Development. Learn about all 4 teams at :

Business Development Team

The demand on our service is rapidly increasing; and as such we’re launching our Business Development Strategy to increase both financial and in-kind support in order to meet the increasing needs within our community. By joining our team you’ll be working to develop innovative approaches to raise funds/in-kind support, including running events; gaining monthly donors; applying for grants and exploring ways in which we can grow our sales/revenue (social enterprise model). Area’s will include: corporate sponsorships & CSR, Philanthropy, Community fundraising, government funding, local authority and grants.

Responsibilities:

• Develop & execute strategy, including supporting marketing team to grow our public image.
• Search for opportunities – upcoming grants, opportunities within our networks, meetings with people of influence etc.
• Develop & implement monthly donors programme.
• Complete grant applications.
• Stewardship: Maintain & build upon relationships with existing donors and ensure quality communication with all stakeholders (regular e-updates, coffee’s, invites to BlueFire events).
• Utilize & expand our networks.
• Create and execute fundraising events.

• Unleash your full changemaker potential through the hands on experience of delivering BlueFire’s programmes, establishing & delivering your own project, participating in our workshops & training and reflecting and learning with and from your fellow participants.
• Develop intercultural competencies.
• Make a meaningful impact in the community, in the area of ethnic & cultural integration and youth empowerment.

What's required for this position

To join the business development team as part of the BlueFire Fellowship, you should meet two or more of the following skills/experience:

• PR & Marketing.
• Ability to work both in a team & on your own initiative.
• Project planning.
• Creative & innovative, with ability to work on low budgets.
• Strong networking skills.
• Previous events or fundraising experience a bonus.
