About Meals on Wheels Monaghan (SVP)
St. Vincent de Paul Meals on Wheels is a program that delivers meals to individuals at home who are unable to purchase or prepare their own meals. Research shows that home-delivered meal programs significantly improve diet quality, increase nutrient intakes and improve quality-of-life among the recipients.
What's Involved
Volunteer drivers are being sought for the Meals on Wheels service in Monaghan town. Drivers will be asked to:
collect food from a designated point
deliver the food to the homes of elderly people around Monaghan town
spend a few minutes chatting with the older people they encounter on the delivery route
return containers to the collection point
What's required for this position
Volunteers should be very reliable, trustworthy and patient.
Volunteer drivers are required to have their own vehicle.
