About Irish Society for Colitis and Crohn's Disease (ISCC)

The Irish Society for Colitis and Crohn’s Disease (ISCC) is a patient support group for people who are living with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis (collectively known as Inflammatory Bowel Disease or IBD). We offer telephone support, information leaflets, and organise meetings and events around the country. The ISCC Youth Group is the youth arm of the ISCC and organises informal events and activities aimed at younger people who are living with IBD. The ISCC lobby on behalf of people with IBD for improved services and greater awareness of the impact of living with IBD.

What's Involved

The ISCC are currently recruiting volunteers to lead their Living Well with IBD programme in communities around Ireland.
Volunteers will be required to facilitate programmes, once a week, for 2 1/2 hours for a six week period (programs run every six weeks).

All volunteers will be trained and certified in delivering Chronic Disease Self-Management Programs upon completion. Once trained, volunteers will deliver a six week programme within the community - this educational programme is based on developing skills to address symptoms and emotions associated with living with the chronic disease of IBD.

These programs will be delivered independently by the volunteer in their community, once training is completed, therefore, times / dates / locations will be confirmed at a later stage.
