About Clones Development Society Ltd
Clones Development Society oversee the Ulster Canal Stores, which is a recently renovated heritage building. It is home to our Meals on Wheels service and also to Clones Lace Museum and a restaurant is offering breakfast, snacks and dinners, and caters for parties. We also offer tourist and heritage information, and run guided walking tours during the summer months.
What's Involved
Volunteer drivers are being sought for the Meals on Wheels service in the Clones Area. Drivers will be asked to:
collect food from a designated point
deliver the food to the homes of elderly people around Clones
spend a few minutes chatting with the older people they encounter on the delivery route
return containers to the collection point
Volunteers will complete their deliveries in pairs. Each driver is accompanied by another volunteer who will help deliver the food but is not required to drive.
What's required for this position
Volunteers should be very reliable, trustworthy and patient.
Volunteer drivers are required to have their own mode of transport
- Community Development/ Social work
- Hospitality/ Befriending
- Personable Skills
Level of English required for this role:
Fluent English
