About Dublin International Choral Festival

Dublin International Choral Festival provides a uniquely Irish experience to the visiting choirs and to forge connections between the participants. This is a non-competitive festival and the focus is on the quality of a shared experience for all. The choirs will present their own repertoire as well as perform some works together in the final concert.

What's Involved

Would you like to volunteer with the Dublin International Choral Festival? 22 - 24 March 2019 @ St Ann's Church, Dawson Street & St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin 8.

We are looking for festival volunteers to be able to show people to their seats upon arrival, direct people to the toilet area, hand out programmes when people enter the venues, instruct the public not to use their phones while the performance is on, guide people to the exits after the performance, work with the venue staff regarding implementing health and safety practices. All volunteers will wear a branded T-shirt of the festival to highlight to the public they are festival staff.

- Front of house steward at St Ann's Church and St Patrick's Cathedral
- Working with the choirs as a dedicated event steward (we may assign a volunteer to each choir)
- Working at the ticket collection desks at both venues, checking correct dates etc
- Handing out programmes to patrons upon arrival
- Directing patrons to the specific toilets, seating areas
- Assisting Security / Production crew with maintaining health and safety measures.

What's required for this position

Enjoy dealing with the public. Confident in customer service and hospitality. Friendly and helpful attitude. Reliable and trustworthy. May have interest or prior knowledge in cultural events.

Excellent people skills; be pleasant and polite with public queries; an ability to give clear direction or guidance to people regarding seating or toilet queries, demonstrate a good work ethic with other staff members or choirs/musicians etc of the festival, be interested in the Arts industry.
