Hope is a registered Irish charity (CHY 13237) and works for the development of street children in Kolkata (formally Calcutta) through Protection, Education, Healthcare, Counselling, Children's rights awareness, vocational training and reintegration into family life. Set up in 1999 in Cork by Maureen Forrest (Hon. Director), The Hope Foundation has given over 200,000 children to date a brighter future ensuring greater numbers of Kolkata’s street and slum children enjoy their basic rights to protection, education, healthcare and nutritious food.

What's Involved

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not in any particular order)

• Maintain and continue to develop existing HOPE contacts, relationships and supporters
• Identify new supporters / relevant contacts for HOPE by researching online and contacting businesses on phone
• Developing and managing strong customer relationships
• Raise awareness about the work of HOPE
• Promote/support The Day of HOPE, one of The Hope Foundations largest national fundraiser
• Promote HOPEs global fundraising initiatives, (i.e. Yoga, Walk etc) as relevant
• Follow up with existing school and college leads/contacts provided by HOPE - continuing to raise awareness and funds via same.
• Organization and shipment of fundraising materials as required / directed
• Compiling, filing and maintaining records, databases and reports as directed
• Off-site support at Day of HOPE event October 11th

What's required for this position

• Proven track record in fundraising ability
• Target driven
• Personable and friendly
• Excellent inter personal skills – both verbal and written
• Strong customer/donor focus.
• Strong organisational and multi-tasking abilities
• Fluency in written and verbal English
• Confidence in working on own initiative
• Works well as part of a team
• Basic excel and word skills
• Genuine interest in, and passion for the work of the HOPE Foundation. Desirable, but not essential
• Experience of working in the volunteer/charity sector
• Experience in Call Centre, Online Customer Service, Customer Support, etc. This is a junior role where you will have an opportunity to build up experience in same, whilst supporting a charity and making a real difference
