About The Digital Skills Project
The Digital Skills project, funded by the North East Inner City Initiative, is a collaboration between the Dublin City Public Libraries & CoderDojo Foundation to provide inner city communities access to computer literacy & learning opportunities.
What's Involved
Mentors will be asked to facilitate children learning computer programming, with an emphasis on encouraging self-directed learning. As many of the initiatives' beneficiaries have little to no access to computers outside of their time at the library, instruction on some elements of basic computer literacy may be required.
What's required for this position
Any level of computer programming is welcome, with many of the children working on Scratch, App Inventor and Micro:bit projects as well as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python and Java.
Familiarity with Arduino, Micro:Bit or Raspberry Pi also very welcome.
