Engaging Dementia

About Engaging Dementia

Engaging Dementia is a registered charity that provides training and resources for those who care for people with dementia in residential care, day centres, hospitals or the family home. Our training services are primarily for the staff of nursing homes, day centres and hospitals. Our resources are suitable for both formal and informal carers. We are involved in a range of community-based initiatives focused on supporting communication and engagement for people with dementia.

What's Involved

We are seeking a volunteer to take video footage and provide editing support for a short video that we are producing to tell the story about our work. We are a well established organisation with charitable status and a strong track record in supporting people with dementia and their carers.

The person will need to provide their own equipment and have access to editing software.
We will be taking photographs for the project and this person, if interested, could take some photos on the day.

This will be one of a series of short videos featuring people involved in different aspects of our work, as part of an exciting new project that we will be launching in November. The video(s) will be shown at a launch event in Dublin. Support for the volunteer: We will set up the interviews/groups to be featured in the video and provide transport if required. We will also meet with the volunteer in advance to discuss the project, our volunteer policy, and our organisation’s mission.

Timeframe: the video footage is scheduled for mid September, so this is an invitation for an immediate volunteer vacancy.
Time involved for the volunteer role: we estimate a half day for the filming, three hours for post-footage discussions and production planning, and a half day on editing.
