About Engaging Dementia
Engaging Dementia is a registered charity that provides training and resources for those who care for people with dementia in residential care, day centres, hospitals or the family home. Our training services are primarily for the staff of nursing homes, day centres and hospitals. Our resources are suitable for both formal and informal carers. We are involved in a range of community-based initiatives focused on supporting communication and engagement for people with dementia.
What's Involved
We are seeking a volunteer to take photographs that tell the story of our work. Given that our services are designed to enhance quality of life for people with dementia, the photographs will be taken in nursing homes or day centres. The photographer will be accompanied by our Events / Marketing Co-ordinator.
We are a well established organisation with charitable status and a strong track record in supporting people with dementia and their carers.
The person will need to provide their own equipment for taking the photographs, and editing them if necessary.
The photographs will be used as part of an exciting new project that we will be launching in November. The photographs will be shown at a launch event in Dublin and on our website and social media.
The person will ideally provide their own transport.
Support for the volunteer: We will meet with the volunteer in advance to discuss the project, our volunteer policy, and our organisation’s mission.
Timeframe: the photographs will be taken in September.
Time involved for the volunteer role: we estimate three hours for taking photographs.
