About Culture Night Cork City

Celebrating culture and creativity, Culture Night has become a much loved annual event thanks to the venues, organisations, performers and volunteers who get involved , offering the people of Cork a unique opportunity to participate, experience and engage with this city's unique and vibrant cultural sector. This year over 100 venues are taking part, there will be over 200 events taking place and it's all free of charge!

What's Involved

Volunteers are required on Friday 21st September and will be based in City Hall where they will meet and greet attendees, provide information, assist in the setup and running of onsite events, and represent Culture Night to the public.

Volunteers who offer to help on the day will need to be available for a casual briefing meeting on a weekday evening in the week before the event.

Roles Include:

10am-3pm General Preparation Support Helping out with setup, inflating balloons, assisting with the distribution of marketing materials.

3pm-11pm Culture Night Steward Provide information and assistance to the public. Strong spoken english is required for this role, and knowledge of the city and venues of interest is beneficial.

6.30pm-11pm Culture Night Buses Volunteer on-the-go as you assist the public on our famously entertaining Culture Buses. Strong spoken english and a good knowledge of the city and venues is required for this role.

3pm-11pm Production Assistant Provide support to the production manager in the setting up of events running in City Hall.

3pm-10.30pm Box Office/Event Support Assist in the management of bookings and stewarding at events.

Times may vary from role to role. If you cannot commit to an entire block of hours, 4 hour shifts will be available.

What's required for this position

This role requires dealing with the public so you will need to be friendly and polite at all times. You will be expected to make yourself familiar with events taking place during Culture Night and remember key information so that you can best help the public.
