About Sligo Stroke Support Group run by the Irish Heart Foundation.
The Stroke Support Group is held every Thursday in Nazareth House community Gym from 2.30pm to 4.40pm. The group provides peer support for Stroke Survivors, information, guest speakers, social engagement, outings and an all important cup of tea. We also provide one hour of group based physical activity.
We need to recruit a few more volunteers that could come at 2.15pm on Thursdays, help set up chairs, tables, tea and coffees then mingle with the members and help tidy the room afterwards.
Some volunteers like to get involved in weekly activities such as board games, quizzes, cards, art/crafts, but this isn't essential. If you can't commit to every week that is okay, perhaps you can join rota do once a fortnight or every 3rd week.
