The aim of Scouting Ireland is to encourage the Social, Physical, Intellectual, Character, Emotional, and Spiritual development (known as the SPICES) of young people "so that they may achieve their full potential and as responsible citizens, to improve society

What's Involved

Working with groups of children ranging in age from 6-8 years, 8-12 years, 12-15 years, 16-18 years. Activities include skills training and games at weekly meetings to day trips in the outdoors and camping out under the stars. No experience required, no need to have been in scouting as a child yourself. Buion Setanta Scouts began with a group of boys & girls from St John of Gods school, Drumcar in 1984 very quickly the group became fully accessible to those of all abilities. Over the years inclusivity remains at the core of our group and we wish to ensure that scouting is available to all boys and girls regardless of ability.

What's required for this position

No experience required, we provide training in skills and youth work. You need to have an interest in working with young people and the ability to work in a team and it helps if you enjoy the outdoors as that is our main thing!!
