O'Connell Court Sheltered Housing

About O'Connell Court Sheltered Housing

Established in 1989 in response to the needs of Homeless Older People, the organisation provides 66 housing units for Older People. O' Connell Court is governed by a voluntary board of management, which is representative of statutory, business and voluntary sectors in Cork City.

O'Connell Court provides support accommodation for people of an older age who find themselves in a homeless situation. We also cater for people aged over 50 with mental health issues. The project has 2 properties, with 55 spaces at O'Connell Court and 13 at Oakdene House.

"O' Connell Court advocates acceptance, tolerance and recognition of the person as a whole person regardless of the labels which society has attached to them in their older years."
