What's Involved

The Drogheda Branch of the ISPCC are recruiting for their Childline service with their next training course due to start this Spring.
We recruit volunteers from all over the Louth and Meath area and are eager to add to our fantastic team.
If you are able to commit to a 4 hour shift and are interested in providing a listening service for children, as part of a team of dedicated volunteers, come along to one of our information evenings to find out more!

Childline volunteers receive extensive training in order to provide a quality 24 hour service for children and young people via phone, text and online.
Volunteers are currently needed Volunteers are currently needed Friday and Saturday afternoons and evenings but some other shifts may have availability too. .

Information sessions will be held on Thursday 9th January at 7pm and Wednesday 15th January at 7pm . Apply below to book your place at one of these sessions.

What's required for this position

Volunteers must have a genuine desire to listen to children. It is essential to be child-centred, non-directive, non-problem focused and non-judgemental. Through the training process, volunteers will learn the skills for active listening. It is also necessary to be flexible, committed, and dedicated.
