Volunteer in sport? Never volunteered in sport? We want to hear from you! Volunteer Ireland are collaborating with Sport Ireland on an important piece of research that looks at migrant communities volunteering in sports in Ireland. Research from Sport Ireland indicates that there are over 400,000 people volunteering on average 3.5hrs a week in 12,000 sports clubs across Ireland. The research also indicates that just 5.2% of those volunteers are non-Irish nationals. To better understand the reasons why, someone from a migrant community, would or would not consider volunteering in sport, we are looking for individuals who have volunteered in sport and those who have not to take part in a series of focus groups. Free refreshments will be provided.
