Hairdressing and Beauty Treatments in Homeless Hostels this Christmas

Depaul

About Depaul

Depaul is a homeless charity providing accommodation and support through hostels and outreach services. Depaul believes that everyone should have a place to call home and a stake in their community. Our aim is to work with those who are socially excluded and marginalised by providing a quality led service in order to produce the best possible outcomes for those accessing our services. We work in partnership with central and local government, housing associations and other non-governmental organisations such as the society of St Vincent de Paul.

What's Involved

We need skilled barbers, hairdressers, beauty therapists etc. to help our service users get ready for Christmas.

While these volunteer roles are available all year round, they are especially important in the lead up to Christmas when many people may be meeting family members they haven’t seen in some time and feeling and looking their best gives them a huge boost.

A haircut or a beauty treatment is more than just the simple act of cutting hair or applying products. For some people it can mean a boost to their confidence, a feeling that someone is taking an interest in you, a chance for social interactions.

Something as simple as a haircut, a facial, or getting your nails painted can mean the world to someone who has very little.
