About Crosscare
Crosscare is the social care agency of the Dublin Archdiocese delivering services to those who need them most within the greater Dublin area, working to relieve poverty and serve the needs of the poor and marginalised in the Archdiocese of Dublin. We offer a range of programmes based on innovative approaches to meet new and emerging needs for those affected by homelessness, the needs of young people, and the development of community driven services.
What's Involved
Would you like to help us maintain a lovely garden for our families experiencing homelessness? Crosscare are looking for green fingers for 4 hours a week over 1-2 days between 10am & 5pm.(Set days to be agreed with volunteer)
Tasks include:
• To help with the general appearance and upkeep of the Family Hub garden.
• To carry out general garden duties e.g. watering, weeding, pruning, dead heading, planting and leaf collection
• To dig, plant and maintain the garden as instructed by Facilities coordinator
• To maintain good health and safety practice
• To wash down the Garden paths weekly.
• To encourage parents and their children to participation in Garden duties
What's required for this position
• A good understanding and knowledge of general gardening skills (veg/flowers)
• Ability to work on own initiative
• A reasonable level of physical dexterity
