Volunteers are central to the work of Sligo Social Services. Volunteers work alongside professional staff to deliver vital services to those in need.

What's Involved

The volunteer calls to the Meals on Wheels kitchen one day a week, before noon to collect 5 to10 hot meals for delivery. The volunteers are known for their smile, chat and the arrival of a hot nutritious meal. The volunteers deliver to the same people each week and let the kitchen know if something is not quite right. This is then followed up on by the kitchen staff.

What's required for this position

Driver with own car is essential. Someone who is friendly, and can listen when required. Someone who is reliable.

Location of volunteering opportunity:
The volunteer calls to the Kitchen in Sligo Social Services in Charles Street and delivers meals within a 5 mile radius of Sligo Town.
