About Coolock Darndale Adult Literacy Service
Coolock Darndale Adult Literacy Service is part of City of Dublin Education and Training Board (CDETB). We strive to support our students in developing their reading, writing, maths and computers skills. Our service operates in ten centres within the community, and we support learners with one-to-one classes and small groups, both accredited and non-accredited. It is always our aim to listen to and respond to the needs of our students and community as very best we can.
What's Involved
Volunteer Tutors are expected to work for 2 hours per week with an individual adult student. All Volunteers must undertake the CDETB Volunteer Tutor Training programme in advance of volunteering. Garda Vetting must also be completed in advance. Coolock Darndale Adult Literacy Service will be running Volunteer Tutor Training for 15 sessions between September and December 2018.
What's required for this position
Excellent standard of literacy. Ability to work in a sensitive and confidential manner with students. Excellent communication skills. Punctuality and preparation are essential in this role.
